Content & Product Accuracy

Content Disclaimer & Accuracy Policy.

Every description, photo, size chart and fabric note on valerive.com is written and checked by S Commerce with real care. This page explains, plainly, how we keep that content accurate, where natural limits exist — a screen can only show a colour so faithfully, a garment measurement always has a small tolerance — and exactly what to do if something ever doesn't match up.

Section 1 — Our Approach

Accurate content, written by people who know the dresses

Product descriptions on valerive.com — from the Zirella Summer Dress to the Bella Maxi Dress — are written and checked as accurately as possible: fabric, fit, length, neckline and occasion are all described from the sample garment in front of us. Even so, slight variations can occur between production batches, between a bolt of fabric and the next, or between the sample photographed and the exact piece you receive. This page sets out, honestly, the limits of that accuracy and your rights if something is genuinely wrong.

Nothing in this policy limits or removes any right you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Dutch Burgerlijk Wetboek, or any other mandatory consumer protection law described in Section 10. Where this page and the law conflict, the law always wins.

Section 2 — Product Descriptions

Descriptions are as accurate as possible

We write every description — fabric, silhouette, neckline, length, styling suggestions — directly from the garment. Descriptions are as accurate as possible; slight variations may occur between the description and the item you receive, most often in exact shade, drape or pattern placement on prints such as florals, which are rarely perfectly identical from one production run to the next. These are natural manufacturing variations, not errors, and they do not affect the garment's quality or fitness for purpose.

Section 3 — Photography Disclaimer

Screens don't all show colour the same way

Product colours may appear different on different screens, depending on your device's display, brightness setting and colour calibration — a shade of the Fairy Maxi Dress that reads as soft blush on one phone can look a touch pinker or more muted on another. We photograph every dress in consistent, neutral lighting to keep this variation as small as possible, but we recommend checking colour swatches, where available on the product page, alongside the written colour name before ordering.

If the colour you receive is meaningfully different from both the photo and the named swatch, that's covered by our Refund Policy, not just this disclaimer.

Section 4 — Size Accuracy

Sizes are approximate — please check the size chart

Every product page includes a size chart specific to that style, since fit varies between a fitted lace dress and a flowing maxi in stretch jersey. Sizes are approximate; garment measurements can vary by up to roughly 1–2 cm between individual units due to normal manufacturing tolerance, and body measurement guides are a starting reference rather than a guarantee. We are not liable for a size mismatch that falls within this normal tolerance, or for a size chosen that doesn't suit personal preference once the chart was available to check beforehand.

This disclaimer covers ordinary sizing variation only. It does not affect your statutory right, as a UK consumer, to change your mind and return an item within the timeframe set out in our Refund Policy, nor your right to a remedy if a garment does not match its description under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Section 5 — Material Composition

Fabric content, listed honestly

Every listing states the garment's fabric composition — for example a satin, chiffon, velvet or lace blend — as accurately as we can confirm from our suppliers, in line with the fibre-naming and labelling rules described in Section 10. Natural fabrics and blended fibres can show small, expected variations in texture, weight or sheen between dye lots; these are acknowledged here as a normal characteristic of the material, not a fault.

Section 6 — Care Instructions

Care guidance, linked on every product page

Wash and care instructions specific to each garment's fabric are provided on that product's own page, following standard textile care symbols. Following the stated care instructions is the best way to protect delicate fabrics like chiffon, lace and velvet; damage caused by not following the listed care guidance is not covered under our returns process for change-of-mind or defect claims.

Section 7 — Availability & Pricing

Stock and prices can change

Availability is subject to stock, and popular sizes in styles like the Serena Maxi Dress or Carisia Maxi Dress can sell out between browsing and checkout. Prices may change without notice, including as part of seasonal sales, promotions or supplier cost changes, and the current price shown on the product page is the price that applies at the time you place your order. Once your order is confirmed at checkout, the price you paid will not increase; if we discover an obvious pricing error before dispatch — for example a misplaced decimal point — we will contact you before proceeding, and you will always have the choice to cancel for a full refund.

Section 8 — Reviews & Third-Party Content

What we stand behind, and what's from other customers

Product descriptions, photography, size charts and care guidance on valerive.com are written and controlled by S Commerce, and we take full responsibility for their accuracy under this policy. Customer reviews and star ratings are user-generated content: they reflect one shopper's individual opinion and experience of fit, fabric feel or colour, which can genuinely differ from person to person, and they are not verified or edited by us before publication beyond basic moderation for offensive or unlawful content.

In line with UK law banning fake or manipulated reviews, we do not create, buy or edit reviews to make them more favourable, and we do not conceal that an incentive (such as a discount) was offered in exchange for a review where that has occurred. If you believe a review is fake, misleading or breaches these standards, please report it to support@valerive.com.

Section 9 — Errors & Corrections

We reserve the right to correct mistakes

Despite careful checking, an occasional typographical error, incorrect price, outdated stock status or inaccurate description may appear on the site. We reserve the right to correct any such error, misprint or inaccuracy at any time, including after an order has been placed, and to cancel any order affected by a genuine pricing or listing error, in which case you will be offered a full refund rather than being asked to pay a corrected higher price.

Section 10 — Model Information

How our dresses are shown on models

Where a product page includes a photograph of a dress being worn, the model's height and the sample size shown are noted on that product page wherever we have that information available, to help you judge fit and proportion — for example how a maxi length sits on a particular height. Fit will still vary between individual body shapes, which is exactly why the size chart on each listing remains the most reliable reference.

Section 11 — Legal Framework

The consumer law this policy sits within

S Commerce, trading as Valerive, is established in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands, and currently sells to customers in the United Kingdom, so both frameworks below govern how we describe and sell our dresses.

United Kingdom

The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 prohibited misleading actions and omissions about a product's characteristics, price or availability, and remains part of the legal backdrop to fair trading in the UK. Since 6 April 2025, the core unfair-practice rules for UK traders sit under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, which the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) enforces; it treats fake or manipulated reviews and hidden "drip" pricing as automatically unfair. Separately, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires goods to match their description, be of satisfactory quality and be fit for purpose, and the Textile Products (Labelling and Fibre Composition) Regulations 2012 govern how we must name and disclose fibre content.

Netherlands & European Union

Book 6, Title 3A of the Dutch Burgerlijk Wetboek (implementing the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive) prohibits misleading commercial practices, including inaccurate claims about a product's main characteristics, price or availability. Book 7 sets out the conformity requirement for consumer sales — goods must match what was agreed and described. Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 governs textile fibre names and labelling across the EU. The Autoriteit Consument & Markt (ACM) is the Dutch regulator responsible for enforcing fair-trading and consumer-information rules against e-commerce businesses established in the Netherlands.

Section 12 — Keeping This Current

Reporting an error, and how we keep this updated

If you spot an inaccuracy anywhere on valerive.com — a description, a fabric listing, a size chart, a price — please tell us at support@valerive.com or +31 6 26269395, and we aim to correct it within 5 hours of hearing from you. We review this policy at least annually, and sooner if UK or Dutch/EU consumer law changes, including further CMA or ACM guidance. The version in force is always the one published here, dated at the top of this page. See also our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy and Terms of Service for related terms.
